IRSHAAD SAYED CALLS DEMARTE PENA A CHEATER AFTER PED USE EMERGED
[Cape Town, South Africa] Just a few hours ago, Demarte Pena released a statement on Facebook saying that he was a victim of contaminated supplements. This came after his November 2016 title defense (against Irshaad Sayed) blood tests revealed that he had consumed banned substances.
After learning of the results, Sayed wasted no time in firing shots at Pena, indicating that he didn't believe Pena's statement and that Pena "hired a great lawyer to argue his case". Sayed posted a pic of Pena with an injection needle indicating his use of PED's, along with the below comment.
"@thewolfpena has been busted for PEDS, an agent to boost testosterone production. You don't hear that in his statement, neither does he mention that he hired a great lawyer to argue his case. If you are taking a supplement to boost your testosterone, whether they are legal or not you are still trying to gain an advantage. Let's be clear there aren't any supplements that are approved by SAIDS. I have written to SAIDS on 4 seperate occasions asking whether I could use a particular product and they said no all 4 times. Why didn't he ask SAIDS? He is doing some damage control here and it's extremely upsetting to see that, with a good lawyer and some BS you can cover up a doping scandal and play the victim when in fact you're a cheater." - Sayed's response to Pena's statement.
