CANDY FOR CHARITY


EFC is continually coming up with new strategies to keep fighters and fans entertained. This time, they've added some exciting new additions to the Open Workout. In line with this, they are also hosting a charity drive for a local children's charity. Everyone is asked to bring candy as a donation. By doing this, you also stand a change of winning tickets to #EFC65.

Donate candy for local children’s charity at the EFC 65 Media Day

Johannesburg, South Africa – This Saturday at EFC Gym Sandton, EFC 65 athletes will convene for an official EFC 65 press conference and open workout like never done before. It is a week before EFC 65 and tensions will be high. Added to the day’s excitement, all are encouraged to bring sweets and candy to be donated to a local children’s charity for Halloween. Those who get involved will receive a pair of EFC 65 tickets.

2ND EFC ATHLETE TO HEADLINE ON EUROPEAN STAGE

Johannesburg, South Africa – Martin Van Staden has been chosen to fight former UFC veteran Denis Siver in the main event of ACB 75 in Germany. He is the 2nd EFC athlete this month to be selected to headline on the European stage as it was confirmed recently that the double division EFC champion, Dricus du Plessis, would get an immediate welterweight title shot at the Polish based MMA organization KSW. "I'm really excited for this opportunity to go knock out a German in his home town, I'm coming for everything he has." CONTROVERSIAL DECISION: REFEREE BASSON RELEASES STATEMENT

It's not always that referee's have to explain why they made a decision, the way they did but since there was a title on the line, referee Ferdi Basson thought he'd make his views clear of what transpired at EFC 65 this weekend.

Dalcha vs Austin referee on the decision behind the controversial call
Johannesburg, South Africa – Saturday night’s EFC 65 main event between EFC light heavyweight champion ‘Champion’ Dalcha Lungiumbula and challenger Stuart Austin ended in one of the biggest comeback victories of all time, but also in controversy.
Referee Ferdi Basson called a stop to the bout in the second round, ruling Dalcha the winner by TKO, but many insist that he could just as easily have stopped the fight in the first, in that instance ruling Austin the winner by TKO.
