[Cape Town, South Africa] If you don't know the name Dricus du Plessis, my question to you is, where have you been the past few years? At just 23 years old, du Plessis has already accomplished so much in his MMA career.  He is currently the Middleweight and Welterweight Champion of the EFC and is now looking to add a third title to his collection after accepting a fight at Polish MMA Promotion, KSW.
Du Plessis made his EFC debut at EFC 21 against Tshikanga Makuebo at the young age of 19, who he defeated via TKO in the very first round. On his debut, he was sporting an impressive K1/Kickboxing record of 30 wins and 0 losses with 27 of those wins coming as a result of a KO/TKO. He was also the WAKO K1 champion at the time.
du Plessis is currently in Poland on a fight camp in preparation for his fight against Borys Mankowski. Mankowski is the man who is standing between du Plessis and a third world championship. If du Plessis is able to beat Mankowski, he will be the first 2 promotion champion with 3 belts to his name in South Africa. This will surely make him one of the best MMA fighters on the African continent.
Mankowski has a fight record of 19-6-1 with du Plessis  at 11-1-0. This record however should not make du Plessis the underdog as he had previously faced guys with higher fight totals and win records behind their names. At EFC he beat Donovin Hawkey (9-6-0 vs 3-0-0 ), Dino Bagattin (11-4-0 vs 5-1-0) and Martin van Staden (15-8-0 vs 7-1-0) at the time of his fight.
There is no doubt that a tough task is awaiting du Plessis. Having to prepare for a fight in a foreign country and a much bigger stage than what he is used to, but with the heart and fighting spirit that he has shown in his MMA career I have a good feeling about this fight.
Fighters Corner will be having an interview with Dricus du Plessis as he gets ready for his fight at KSW. Be on the lookout for details on the airing of this interview.
